John thedisciple ofJesus,started hisGospel calling people to become followersofJesus by, firstlyRECOGNISING who Jesus is,the SonofGod. Then, RECEIVING him .and he explains whathe meant by receiving him:1.A mental, intellectual acceptance i.e. accepting what the Bible teaches about Jesus.2. Thenitmeans to trust inthat information - you trust thosetruths to supportyour life,andyou start ordering yourlife around those teachings because you trust in them.3.Finally it takes that trust one step further :- being relaxed with what Jesus teaches andwhat he has done on your behalf through his death, burial and resurrection and knowingwithin your inner being that He has your life within His protective care for all eternity.Hear the words ofJohn 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and onlySon, that whoever believes inhimshall not perish buthave eternallife."Is that the kind ofbelief and trust in Jesus that you have experienced?Your answer determines your destiny.'
